World Affairs Specialisation

The pathway specialisation in World Affairs offers students the ability to deepen their understanding of the core processes that shape global politics. The specialisation expands on the thematic conversations introduced in the Introductory Compulsory and Disciplinary Foundation segments of the Masters of International Relations by examining the interlocking security, economic, governance and foreign policy dimensions of world politics. In this way the specialisation offers a multidimensional examination of the origins, processes, conduct and consequences of political action between communities. The specialisation engaged with this topics from a range of International Relations perspectives, providing students with a comprehensive conceptual and empirical understanding of how word affairs operates. This pathway specialisation offers students the ability to think broadly and comparatively about world affairs, whereas the pathway specialisations on the International Relations of the Asia Pacific and Peace and Conflict studies are designed to be more thematically focused on particular disciplinary conversations.
