This course is a vehicle for offering highly capable students the opportunity to work with an academic supervisor to produce an extended piece of research, or a policy paper, or a series of academic blogs that are of equivalent academic standard and quality in the fields of regulation and governance.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Produce a sustained argument on an issue of importance in the field of regulation and governance
- Craft a piece of persuasive writing in the chosen genre that is of publishable quality
- Apply the conventions of mentored writing
- Demonstrate the skills required to collaborate with a supervisor and mentor in order to lift the quality of the professional work product being produced

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload
The course will be delivered through individual meetings with an academic supervisor over the course of the teaching period. The required workload, including research, will be approximately 130 hours.
