The minor in Project Management aims to provide knowledge of project management frameworks that can be used in the workplace.


Application of knowledge and skills

Graduates with a minor in Project Management will demonstrate the application of project management knowledge and skills:

  • with initiative and judgment in planning, problem solving and decision making in professional practice and/or scholarship;
  • to adapt knowledge and skills in diverse contexts; and,
  • with responsibility and accountability for own learning and professional practice and in collaboration with others within broad parameters.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop a business case for new projects;
  2. Use tools for project selection, planning, leading, reporting and tracking;
  3. Evaluate project success;
  4. Explain and illustrate how projects are funded;
  5. Apply best practice methodology to the management of projects.

Other Information

Students wishing to complete INFS3059 will need to complete the following sequence of ICT courses:

  • INFS1001 or COMP1100 or COMP1710 or COMP1720 or COMP2400 (external to minor but common core course in Computing, Engineering, Science, and Business Information Systems studies)
  • INFS2024 and/or INFS3024 (depending on your study preferences and requisite courses previously completed)


Students with non-ICT backgrounds may prefer the MGMT course options for completion of the minor, but are welcome to study other list courses of interest.
