Advanced Music Recording and Post-Production Techniques exposes students to advanced production workflows in professional recording studio environments. Students engage with both stereo and immersive mixing approaches while developing skills in genre-specific production contexts. The course covers in-the-box and hardware-based workflows, emphasizing technical proficiency, creative innovation, and meeting professional production requirements. Through hands-on experience, students refine their ability to balance technical constraints with artistic expression, preparing them for diverse industry applications.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- demonstrate technical proficiency in both in-the-box and hardware-based production workflows, applying skills required for professional recording studio environments;
- evaluate and synthesise stereo and immersive mixing approaches;
- apply advanced genre-specific production techniques—such as multiband compression, spatial mixing, saturation, and creative automation—in an original recordings that meet the stylistic and technical demands of diverse musical styles; and
- analyse how technical constraints and artistic objectives shape decision-making in music production, and design projects that meet professional standards in contexts such as music streaming, soundtrack composition, and immersive audio release.

Workload
130 hours of total student learning time made up from:
