This course requires students to complete a 24 unit honours thesis in actuarial studies. Students will undertake independent research in actuarial studies under the guidance of a supervisor.

The grade for this course is determined based on a research thesis submitted at the end of the honours year. In order to pass the course, students must also complete a number of hurdle tasks, determined by the convener of the honours program, and designed to prepare students for the completion of their thesis. These hurdle tasks may include, but are not limited to, a thesis proposal and presentation, thesis timeline, and additional training tasks.The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload
Students are expected to spend 10 hours per 6 units of enrolment per week on the course. This includes time spent on research and thesis writing, preparing for course hurdle requirements and meeting with their supervisor.Requisite and Incompatibility
