The Asia and Pacific Studies Specialisation is intended for those students who want to develop an appreciation of both of these vital regions. Requiring students to take 12 units on both the study of Asia and the Pacific enables students to consider and appreciate both regions as co-equal areas of attention. Students will be able to consider and appreciate some of the pressing contemporary issues, challenges, and opportunities that confront both regions, and reflect on the similarities and differences between them. Students will gain exposure to a range of conceptual and theoretical perspectives used to study these regions, and the states, societies, and peoples within them.
