Other Information

Double counting of courses

Listed + Specialisation: If a course is listed in the study requirements of the program and in a specialisation, it can be counted to both and students will need to complete an additional 6u elective course to ensure they complete the full number of units required for the program.

Specialisation + Specialisation: If a course appears in two specialisations, it can only be counted towards one, and students will need to select an additional 6u course from the second specialisation to ensure that 24u have been completed towards both specialisations. Students may choose to seek permission from the RSM School Office (enquiries.rsm@anu.edu.au) to study an alternative course relevant to the other specialisation. Note that each specialisation must contain at least 12u of unique study at 8000-level, and any other requirements of each specialisation must be met.

For example, students who wish to complete this Entrepreneurship and Innovation specialisation and also the Management Essentials Specialisation can not count MGMT8015 towards both specialisations, only towards one. Instead, they would complete both MKTG8035 and MMIB8001 to meet the 12u of unique study at 8000-level required, or seek permission for an alternative 8000-level course to replace MGMT8015.

Applied research project

Students who wish to carry out applied research related to a problem in the Entrepreneurship and Innovation disciplines may enrol in MMIB8001 if they have the agreement of an academic supervisor from RSM. It is strongly suggested that students approach academics in the semester before their planned MMIB8001 studies to secure their agreement to supervise the research.

Agricultural Innovation list elective study option

Students who wish to enrol in ENVS6342 Agricultural Innovation will need to use their free elective space to complete any requisite courses first (e.g. ENVS6223 or ENVS6224). These requisite courses are not part of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation specialisation study requirements, and therefore won't count towards the 24 units of study.
