The aim of this course is to use the internship experience to enable students to develop their engineering skills and practice. Invited Students will be placed in industry, working full-time and assessed for academic credit. The internships will be aligned with the aims of the engineering program and its areas of specialisation. Students will experience a real-life engineering workplace and understand how their engineering and professional skills and knowledge can be utilised in industry. They will also be able to demonstrate functioning engineering knowledge, both new and existing, and identify areas of further development for their future careers.

  • Experience of applying existing engineering knowledge in similar or new situations
  • Ability to identify when new engineering knowledge is required, and apply it
  • Ability to integrate existing and new technical knowledge for industrial application

Other Information

Engineering Internship enables students to develop their engineering skills and practice in a real-worldengineering environment. Indicative Assessment

Internship Journal (e-Portfolio) and Reflection Items (20%); Internship Report (60%); Industry Supervisor Report (20%);

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students.
