This course introduces students to the principles and fundamentals of managing projects and information technology initiatives in a business context. The emphasis is on understanding how requirements, processes, information and resources can be managed to achieve business goals. The course will instruct students in how to select and apply appropriate techniques to build a foundation for further study in project management and business information systems. The course is divided into two sequential modules, covering the management of information systems and the management of projects.

Workload

The average student workload for this course is 10 hours per week. For on-campus students this includes time spent in scheduled classes and self-directed study time. For on-line students this includes time spent reading, researching, studying and participating in on-line activities.
