Building upon management experience and prior learning, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program provides middle managers with essential business and management knowledge and skills to move into senior management roles.

Further Information

Application deadline 
The MBA and MBA (Advanced) programs will be commencing in Semester 1 (February) only in each year. Applications for Semester 2 (July) commencement will not be accepted.

Students are encouraged to apply for the Semester 1 2018 intake.  
  • The deadline for the first round of applications is 30 September 2017 (11:59pm Australian Eastern Standard Time).  Applicants will be notified of the outcome for both admission and scholarship by mid-November 2017.
  • The deadline for the second round of applications is 29 October 2017 (11:59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time).  Applicants will be notified of the outcome for both admission and scholarship by mid-December 2017.

Acceptance deadline
If you are successful in receiving an offer, the acceptance deadlines for both admission and scholarship for the Semester 1 2018 intake are:

  • For round one applicants – 26 November 2017 (11:59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time)
  • For round two applicants – 1 January 2018 (11:59pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time)
Application and acceptance deadlines will be strictly adhered to.


Program commencement
Please note that the MBA and MBA (Advanced) programs will commence in O-Week, commencing Monday 12 February in 2018.


Work experience
Applicants must complete this CV template to provide employment history (duties, responsibilities, hours, name and nature of employer). Applicants must also provide two referee reports/letters. A personal interview (in person or phone) may be required to confirm work experience and referees may be contacted. Please provide the completed CV template and two referee reports/letters as one PDF and upload it with your application.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. If the CV template does not detail your employment history clearly, especially with respect to professional and managerial experience, your application will be deemed incomplete. 


Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
Applicants without a completed Bachelor's degree (with a GPA of 5.0/7.0) can apply for admission using their GMAT score of 600.  Applicants must also satisfy the minimum 5 years work experience (including at least 3 years documented management experience) requirement.

A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a credit average (GPA 5.0/7.0).

An ANU Graduate certificate in management with a credit average (GPA 5.0/7.0).

About this degree

You will start this program by enrolling in the first set of courses listed under the Management Core Specialisation.  Upon successful completion of these four courses, you will progress to the Management Essentials Specialisation courses.  The final set of courses will be from the Business Essentials Specialisations.  Further details are available on each specialisations' page.

Enrolment Status

If you are an international student, you are required to undertake 4 courses per semester (total of 24 units) and you will be able to complete the program in 1.5 years. If you are a domestic student, you will have up to 6 years to complete this degree.
