Thi course builds on skill acquired in ARTV2921 Environment Studio 1 to extend student's capacity to work as artists in the field. Through field excursions, students develop their understanding of fieldwork methodologies and their application for realising field-based reserach in the visual arts. This course is offered as either an intensive or as a semester-long program.

Documentation (40%) [LOs 1, 3]: this could include visual diaries, field notes, preparatory sketches, photographs, video footage, etc
Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions
that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress.
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload
As intensive:
14 day intensive, including 5 day excursion, combining formal instruction and self-directed field research and studio practice. 52 contact hours plus pre- and post- field trip preparation/debriefing and studio time.
As semester-long course:
4 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and
self-directed field excursions plus 6 hours per week self-directed studio
practice.
