This course will give students an opportunity to complete an extended and focused piece of research on a musical topic. Topics will reflect the current research projects of the school and the wider community, and involve the development of skills in collaborative research. Students may only pursue individual research projects with the permission of the convenor.

- Developed vocabulary and tools for speaking and writing critically about music
- An emerging independence and higher-level cognitive skills in the synthesis and analysis of information and concepts, compared with MUSI2214 Music Research Project 1
- The ability to identify and communicate your emerging research skills to others
Indicative Assessment
- A research project of 3000–4000 words or creative equivalent (70%) [Learning Outcomes 1–7]
- Research diary or other reflective process (30%) [Learning Outcomes 1–6]
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload
A mixture of seminars and workshops equivalent to three hours per week, plus seven hours of independent study per week.
