- comprehend brief aural and written texts in Italian;
- produce phonologically accurate texts presented within their musical, cultural and historical context;
- research and write short papers about Italian opera (in english and/or Italian)
Indicative Assessment
1 semester-long project (50%) leading to a composition, a presentation and a performance (singing or poetry recital)
1 voice / pronunciation exercise (15%)
1 language of opera test (20%)
1 cultural / musical assignment (15%)
(School of Music students may write their assignment in English, whereas students counting the course towards their Italian Major will write it in Italian).
