This course draws together the compulsory skills, practice areas and values from the APLEC/LACC Competency Statements for Entry-level Lawyers.

- Skills - building on the Lawyer's Skills, Problem Solving and Work Management and Business Skills introduced in Becoming a Practitioner plus covering Trust and Office Accounting

- Commercial and Corporate Practice
- Property Practice
- Values in Ethics and Professional Responsibility

Indicative Assessment
The assessment package includes:
- completion (with your colleagues) of transactions in the Practice Areas:
- Civil Litigation
- Commercial and Corporate Practice
- Property Practice
- individual assessments outside the transactional environment in Trust and Office Accounting and Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students. Workload
This is an online course without class contact time. The course is a substantial one and students should expect to spend 15 to 20 hours per week on it. The time you will need to spend working on the course will depend to some extent on your pre-existing knowledge and experience of practice.
The sorts of activities that you will be engaged in will include:
- working with your colleagues and supervisors on transactions
- accessing print and online materials so you can complete your transaction work
- contributing to online discussions and reflective work on your learning
- completing some assessments outside the transactional environment
- working with your practice mentor to compile your evidence for attaining competencies.
