This course is designed to enable students to develop skills in writing about their research-led creative practice. It provides students with skills in exegetical writing necessary for the composition of the exegesis that accompanies their Honours thesis. The course addresses different ways in which students may reflect on their creative practice, and will examine different possible approaches to articulate this in written form.

This is a core course for students taking the performance or composition streams of the Schools of Music Honours Program.Indicative Assessment
A 20-minute oral presentation, either taking the form of a lecture-presentation on the student's creative practice as research, or a critical evaluation of other materials presented in this unit. (10%) (Outcomes 1-4).An exegesis proposal and plan (10%) (500 words) (Outcomes 1-3)
A written exegesis of the research topic realised through the creative work presented within Thesis THES4105 (80%) (5000-6000 words). (Outcomes 1-3)

Workload
