Description
South Asian Studies offers a suite of courses covering the cultures, societies, histories, philosophies and religions of the Indian subcontinent. The major provides students with a foundation in the history of the nations on the subcontinent, an understanding of the movements and religions of the peoples that populate it, as well as training them to investigate and analyse its myriad cultures and societies—both contemporary and historical. A South Asian Studies major provides students with a solid foundation upon which to develop both general and specialist interests in Indian culture, history, society and thought.
