The Masters of Strategic Studies (Advanced) requires the completion of 96 units which must consist of:

STST7002 Strategic Studies Sub-thesis - Part-time
Students must complete all courses in the initial component to continue to the concluding component.
Students must achieve a minimum of 70% weighted average mark in the initial and concluding coursework components to continue to the research component.
Students who do not achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the initial and concluding coursework components will be transferred to the Master of Strategic Studies.
Admission Requirements
A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with an average mark of at least 70%.
Applicants with a Bachelor Degree or Graduate Certificate in a cognate discipline may be eligible for 24 units (one semester) of credit.
Applicants with a Graduate Diploma or Honours in a cognate discipline may be eligible for 48 units (one year) of credit.
Students must achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the first 72 units of courses attempted in order to remain enrolled in the Master of Strategic Studies (Advanced).

- Apply strategic concepts and knowledge to practical problems in a contemporary setting.
- Conduct high level, independent scholarly research, express ideas and construct evidence-based arguments in both written and oral form.

- Be able to proceed to a PhD in strategic and defence studies or related discipline subject to grades achieved.
