The course focuses on language usage at an advanced intermediate level in a number of selected settings directly relevant to life in Vietnam. Contexts of language use include aspects of life in Vietnam such as education system, family, social institutions and tourism. A reading program including selected writings by twentieth-century Vietnamese authors forms a part of the course.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

A confidence with advanced and complex use of the Vietnamese language

Indicative Assessment

Attendance and class participation (10%), Weekly assignments (totaling 20%), Mid-term exam (30%), Final exam (30%), Minor project (10%).

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. While the use of Turnitin is not mandatory, the ANU highly recommends Turnitin is used by both teaching staff and students.
