Composition, Arranging, and Sound Design Honours Specialisation

The Composition, Arranging, and Sound Design Honours Specialisation  gives you high-level preparation for professional life or a higher degree by research through the development of an advanced knowledge of the research principles and methods and theoretical concepts of Composition, Arranging, and Sound Design, and through the design and implementation of a research project that will result in a portfolio of work in written and/or audiovisual format, and a supporting text-based exegesis, that develops new understandings or that provides solutions to complex problems.

1. A major or equivalent in music composition, arranging and sound design

2. With the written approval of an identified supervisor for the thesis

This Honours specialisation requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:

36 units from completion of the following courses:

MUSI4401 The Scholar Musician 1

MUSI4404 Creative Practice as Research

THES4105 Thesis

 

A minimum of 6 units from completion of courses on the following list:

MUSI4410 Music Honours Exegesis

MUSI4411 Music Honours Extended Exegesis

 

A maximum of 6 units from completion of courses on the following list:
