- critically evaluate language assessment practices;
- understand the social and political dimensions of language testing;
- apply principles of test design, analysis and evaluation; and
- understand the relationship between language assessment and language teaching.
Indicative AssessmentCritical reflection (800 words) 20% [LO 1, 2, 3, 5]

Major project (2000 words) 50% [LO 1, 2, 4, 5]
The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity. Workload130 hours of total student learning time comprising:
a) 36 hours of contact: 24 hours of lectures, 12 hours of tutorial; and
b) 94 hours of independent student research, reading and writing.
