This course provides a framework for offering courses which reflect the interests of members of staff, students or visiting scholars in the areas of management, business information systems, marketing and international business. The particular content of this course will be determined with the lecturer at the time of teaching. 

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

  1. Explain the theory and frameworks of the Special Topic domain.
  2. Explain the social and ethical implications of the Special Topic domain.
  3. Apply the knowledge and skills obtained through the study of the Special Topic to problems and issues arising in organisations and work situations.

Workload

Students taking this course in First or Second Semester are expected to commit at least 10 hours per week to completing the work. This will include 3 hours per week in class and at least 7 hours a week on average on course reading, research, writing and assessment work.

Where this course is offered in intensive delivery mode as a continuous block over a shorter period of time, the expected total time commitment for this course will be 130 hours.
