Program Requirements
The Master of Military Law requires the completion of 48 units, which must consist of:
24 units from completion of the following compulsory courses:
LAWS8164 Advanced Military Discipline Law
LAWS8165 Advanced Military Administrative Law
LAWS8166 Advanced Military Operations Law
24 units from completion of 8000-level courses in the following subject areas:
LAWS Law
LEGM Legal Practice MLP
24 units from completion of the following compulsory courses:

Admission Requirements
This program is restricted to approved Defence personnel who hold a Bachelors of Laws, Juris Doctor or international equivalent qualifying the candidate for admission to legal practice in Australia, as well as a Graduate Certificate of Military Law from ANU.

All applicants must meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students.
Assessment of Qualifications
Unless otherwise indicated, ANU will accept all Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications or international equivalents that meet or exceed the published admission requirements of our programs, provided all other admission requirements are also met. Where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will base assessment on the qualification that best meets the admission requirements for the program. ANU uses a 7-point Grade Point Average (GPA) scale. All qualifications submitted for admission at ANU will be converted to this common scale, which will determine if an applicant meets our published admission requirements. Unless otherwise indicated, where an applicant has more than one completed tertiary qualification, ANU will calculate the GPA for each qualification separately. ANU will base assessment on the best GPA of all completed tertiary qualifications of the same level or higher.

The program is taught under contract for the Department of Defence. It is only open to ADF legal officers nominated by the Department of Defence. The ANU College of Law Military Law Program covers the LTM2 and LMT3 levels of the ADF competency scheme for ADF legal officers.
