Thesis course for a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Critically analyse, synthesise and evaluate complex information in a specific area relevant to their research;
- Formulate hypotheses, a research plan and undertake independent research to address specific research questions that make a substantial contribution to knowledge;
- Develop, adapt and implement research methodologies relevant to their research questions;
- Demonstrate expert technical skills relevant to their specific research focus;
- Communicate effectively to specialist and non-specialist audiences in both written and oral form;
- Demostrate appropriate collegial and professional behaviour and safe working practices as required by their specific research focus.
Indicative Assessment
- Satisfactory progress will be continuously monitored via the supervisory panel and standard HDR milestones. Final assessment will be made through external examination of a research thesis. (100) [LO 1,2,3,4,5,6]
