A sound microeconomic approach to real-world problems and the development of policy and programs to deliver improvements in economic welfare rely upon advanced economic knowledge and technical know-how. This specialisation provides students with advanced understanding of microeconomic policy and evaluation. This specialisation will also provide students with the skills in econometrics. To maximise learning and career outcomes for those in government, banking and finance across public, private and non-government sectors, an Academic Convenor provides advice on course planning, events of interest and meets regularly with the group.

Other Information

This specialisation is only available to students undertaking the Master of International and Development Economics and Master of Environmental and Resource Economics degree programs. IDEC8011 and IDEC8033 are eligible to provide credit on approval of the course convener provided that the research essay or project falls within the field of the specialisation.
