Students who complete this minor will have core analytical training in econometrics. It provides a foundation for students wishing to specialise in applied economics.

Learning Outcomes

  1. demonstrate core analytical skills in economics;

  2. demonstrate familiarity with estimation and hypothesis testing in linear regression modelling;

  3. demonstrate an understanding of computational, statistical and theoretical tools used for research in macro and financial econometrics; and

  4. formulate relevant methods to estimate causality in economic models.

Selective major within an Economics degree - some core requirements of BEcon are necessary - ECON1101; EMET1001 and STAT1008 for completion of this minor.
