This course aims to develop advanced skills in kiln forming and advanced cold forming. Technical demonstrations and hands on courses are the main teaching method for these areas of glass working. Set projects include thematic and self-directed projects, and allow individual exploration of concepts and techniques aimed at experimentation and developing research methods. Lectures and group discussions extend students knowledge of themes and issues within current practice and assist build the ability to analyse and critique their own work and working methods. Occupational health and safety instruction is integrated throughout the syllabus.

Indicative Assessment
Portfolio of studio work (80%) [LO 1, 2, 3]and Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%) [LO 2, 3, 4].
Feedback on work in progress is provided during class and at mid semester review session. Final assessment will be based on presented completed works, journals, tests and models.
