Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, students will have the knowledge and skills to:

1. communicate concepts for a variety of relevant academic and / or professional purposes;
2. apply theoretical ideas to case studies developed from personal observation;
3. conduct data-collection and analysis for humanities research and museum work;
4. write a research project that applies conceptual and methodological skills that addresses a particular research question or case study; and
5. model best practice and have a commitment to ethical, reflective practice in regard to heritage studies.

Indicative Assessment

1. Written assessment (or equivalent project-based work), (10,000-12,000 words) (100) [LO 1,2,3,4,5]
2. The nature of the inquiry will be established at the commencement of the teaching period through a written proposal that will be developed in consultation between the student and supervising lecturer. This proposal is not summatively assessed (it has zero percent weighting) but is a compulsory hurdle requirement for completion of the course. (null) [LO null]

The ANU uses Turnitin to enhance student citation and referencing techniques, and to assess assignment submissions as a component of the University's approach to managing Academic Integrity.
